spillway Project

I’d been waiting for inspiration to photograph a spillway not far from my home. The deluge from Hurricane Ida shooting excess water across the lakeside roadway then sending it vaulting and roiling over the stepped spillway to the creek far below had me in my rain boots, camera in hand. For over 3000 years these low-tech structures have controlled the floodwaters of dammed waterways.
